Louisiana Sgt. Co C 9 Mar 3 Mar Div Vietnam

Winston George Hollenshead was born on March 29, 1943. He was a graduate of Homer High School.

He was killed in hostile action in the Quang Tri Province of South Vietnam.

Sgt. Hollenshead parents were informed of their son’s death via telegram. Sgt. Hollenshead died on a Sunday, March 19, 1967, at the age of 23, from fragmentation wounds sustained while in action.

He was survived by his wife and a 7-month old daughter.

As career soldier, Sgt. Hollenshead had been in the Army since the fall of 1961 and stationed in South Vietnam since September 1966.

His funeral was held at Bailey Funeral home in Haynesville and he is buried at Lebanon Cemetery.
