Born in Claiborne Parish, Ray Ivory, Sr. has deep roots in Northwest Louisiana. He is a father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather. He currently lives in Gibsland, Louisiana. Mr. Ivory relishes on family and community.

(Gibsland, LA)- Ray Ivory, Sr. of Gibsland announced today that he will be running for State Representative in the 11 th Assembly District, which covers portions of Bienville, Claiborne, and Lincoln Parishes. He has served as former mayor (four years) and town councilman (four years) for the Town of Gibsland.

“Strong leadership and communication are important to thrive as a community,” says Mr. Ivory. As former mayor of the Town of Gibsland, he has experienced first-hand how economics and communication plays an important role. Throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, Mr. Ivory took the lead in implementing policies and procedures. He was the first to act to implement the Governor’s Executive Order limiting travel and social distancing.

Mr. Ivory spent countless hours researching and developing relationships throughout various agencies securing a grant for water treatment, establishing a library for the Town of Gibsland, and securing the Town’s first Family Dollar/ Dollar Tree.

“Representative Jefferson has served the voters of District 11 with integrity and diligence,” said Mr. Ivory. “I want to continue the tradition of servitude and ambition to stand with and for the people.”
