Stop by the Athens Dollar General this coming Saturday, July 8, at 11 a.m. to pick up a few Jambalaya plates to benefit Caleb Peaden as he travels to MD Anderson to receive treatments.
Caleb was diagnosed with pheochromocytoma, a rare type of neuroendocrine tumor that usually develops in the adrenal glands. These tumors secrete hormones that can cause symptoms including high blood pressure, sweating, rapid heartbeat and headaches. Caleb is also being evaluated for multiple endocrine disorders.
They will be selling raffle tickets for a Magellan Outdoors Pro 75-quart ice chest until the end of day Saturday.
The money raised from this fundraiser will assist the family with travel expenses, food and medical treatments. Caleb will be traveling to MD Anderson soon to undergo surgery and possibly radiation and chemotherapy. He will not be able to attend school or work during this time. For those unable to attend the fundraiser, they can donate to the GoFundMe account below.
To purchase pre-sale tickets please reach out to Amanda Peaden or Kelsey Ellis Marsalis.
