The Claiborne Parish Library will be hosting several free programs for the public at the main library in Homer this fall.
On Thursday, October 5, at 6:00 p.m. Lyle Blackburn, Bigfoot Cryptozoologist, returns after very popular presentations at the library in the past. The author of several books and a renowned Bigfoot expert, Blackburn is sure to entertain and educate with an interesting presentation.
Are you timid when it comes to computers and email? Friday, October 6 is just for you. The Library will host training on the basic use of computers followed by a workshop on setting up and using email. Computer Basics will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. followed by Email 101 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Instructor Tobin DeVille is Microsoft certified. Each class is limited to 10 people, so you must call or come by the library to register by September 29.
Don Kimmel, Financial Wellness Officer, for Gibsland Bank & Trust will present Understanding Credit on Tuesday, October 24, 6:00 p.m.
The library’s annual Fall Craft Fair is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, at the main library from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. This popular event gives vendors an opportunity to present their handmade and homemade items before the holidays. Interested vendors should contact Gina Howell at the Claiborne Parish Library (318-927-3845) or come into the library and fill out a registration form. Registration fee is $10 per booth.
A special treat is scheduled for Saturday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. when Estelle Brown will present Memories of Elvis. Estelle was a member of the Sweet Inspirations, a R & B group who sang back-up vocals for Elvis Presley and many other well-known artists.
