Sam Bolen owned the home that caught fire and is suffering a total loss of all personal items, clothing, etc.

As a reminder, the parish is still under a statewide mandated burn ban due to extreme heat and dry conditions.

Residents should avoid any outdoor burning. Private burning will only be allowed with permission through a local fire department.

Barbeque grills, fire pits and small campfires for brief, recreational purposes are allowed, according to the state fire marshal.

Anyone who violates the burn ban could face criminal or civil charges.

Violation of this Fire Marshal order could result in criminal and/or civil penalties.
