Free summer meals available for children in Homer

Homer Elementary School is once again opening its doors this summer to ensure no child goes hungry while school is out. The Summer Feeding Program, offered at no cost and with no enrollment required, is available to all children under the age of 18.

Hosted at Homer Elementary, located at 624 Pelican Drive, Homer, LA 71040, the program provides both breakfast and lunch during scheduled weekdays. Meals will be served during the following times:

Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

Lunch: 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Program Dates:

May 27 – May 30, 2025

June 2 – 5 and June 9 – 10, 2025

This initiative is part of a larger effort to support local families by providing nutritious meals while school is not in session. Funded through federal support, the program helps bridge the gap for students who rely on school meals during the academic year.

No registration is necessary, and all children are welcome to participate. Organizers encourage families to take advantage of the program to promote health and food security throughout the summer months.

This institution is an equal opportunity employer and provider.
