The Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Sam Dowies will host the 7th Annual Youth Hunt Contest this fall.

The contest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, and will be open to youth hunters 17 years old and younger.

Participants will have an opportunity to compete in three categories: Biggest Buck, Heaviest Doe and Biggest Hog.

The Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office encouraged families and young hunters to mark their calendars for the annual event.
