On September 8, 2026, Christopher Brinson of Haynesville, Louisiana, pleaded guilty to one (1) count of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile [La. R.S. 14:81(H)(2)]. Under this statute, the maximum sentence is 25 years at hard labor, and Brinson accepted sentencing of 25 years, five (5) suspended, for a total hard labor sentence of 20 years, of which he must serve 85% of his sentence. Brinson was also ordered to forever refrain from contacting the victim either directly or indirectly and that he would have to register as a sex offender upon his release from incarceration. The victim and her family were involved in every step of the prosecution and sentencing recommendation proposed by the State.

 Assistant District Attorney Jim Colvin, who prosecuted the case for the State said, “Sex crimes involving juveniles has and will forever be a priority of this office, even though these types of crimes are the most difficult cases for any prosecutor to work. I am very pleased that we were able to get justice in this case for the victim and her family.”
