The 2026 Claiborne Parish Fair will continue this week with Gospel Night, a livestock auction and a Saturday pet show as organizers encourage the community to come out and support local youth despite the absence of a carnival this year.

Fair organizers said young exhibitors have worked hard on their livestock projects and invited the public to attend the remaining events to watch the students showcase their animals and skills.

Gospel Night at the Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. at the Expo Center. The evening will feature faith, music, food and community fellowship.

A concession stand will be available during Gospel Night, offering drinks and several fair favorites. Menu items include L.B. Padgett’s gumbo, foot-long corn dogs, chicken strips, french fries and Jackie’s fried pies.

Activities will continue Thursday, Oct. 1, with the Claiborne 4-H Buyers Supper beginning at 6 p.m. The Livestock Auction will follow at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds, giving community members an opportunity to support local youth and their livestock projects.

The week’s activities will conclude Saturday, Oct. 3, with a Pet Show beginning at 10 a.m. Awards will be presented in several categories, including Best Costume, Best Trick/Talent, Most Unique and Best Overall.

Organizers emphasized that while there is no carnival this year, the youth livestock program and other traditional community events remain an important part of the fair.

Residents are encouraged to attend the remaining activities and support the young people who have spent months preparing their livestock projects for the 2026 Claiborne Parish Fair.
