Greetings to my fellow citizens in the Town of Homer, Town of Haynesville and all of Claiborne Parish.

My name is Chief Van McDaniel. First of all, I want to thank all of you for your support, encouragement, and prayers. I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I am entering into the race to become the next sheriff of Claiborne parish.

I am a law enforcement executive with over 17 years of experience, during my career I have been a instructor, teacher, patrolman, investigator, and I am currently the chief of police in the town of Homer. I have the patience, knowledge, experience, and leadership skills to operate, maintain and manage a law enforcement agency. I will be consistent, firm, and fair to all citizens and visitors to our great parish when it comes to enforcing our laws and regulations.

Under my leadership the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Claiborne parish detention center will be transparent, honest, and accountable for our actions.
