When the cries for help come, how do we respond? A reminder that the general mission of peace officers is to protect and serve. Peace officers must enforce the laws of this state and our nation in a fair and impartial manner, ensuring that they continue to treat all people with respect and dignity. They are to remain courteous and always present a professional demeanor.
When organizations/officers tasked with serving you and are questioned or challenged personally, please remember the following:
Deputies/Officers make holding your hand seem like the most important thing in the world when someone tried to hurt you. Annoying sirens seem like angels when you need them. We can make your child breathe when they stop. We get out of bed at 3 a.m. to risk our lives to save people we have never met. We go to work for your family’s safety, a duty we will die for. We make ourselves work birthdays, holidays, nights, anniversaries, and disasters. Today might be the day we make the ultimate sacrifice to save your life. We make a difference.
Please continue to support and encourage the men and women who are tasked with providing these and many other services to our parish. As Sheriff of Claiborne Parish, I rely on each member of our parish to support and defend these core principles. At times law enforcement deals with incidents where the truths cannot be shared with the public in the interest of conducting fair and impartial investigations. Our core values do not waver, and our professionalism will not be sacrificed due to challenging tasks. When possible, pat a law enforcement officer on the back and know, that we have your back.
