LA 540 bridge reopens in Homer following replacement project

Good news for motorists in Claiborne Parish: the LA 540 bridge on Edgewood Drive in the Town of Homer has officially reopened to traffic following the completion of a major infrastructure improvement project.

Town officials announced that the bridge has been replaced with new box culverts, allowing the roadway to reopen and restoring normal traffic flow through the area.

The project involved removing the previous bridge structure and installing box culverts designed to improve drainage, enhance roadway durability, and provide a long-term solution for travelers using LA 540.

With construction now complete, residents and visitors can once again use Edgewood Drive (LA 540) without interruption.

The reopening marks the completion of another infrastructure project aimed at improving transportation and safety for the community.

Motorists are encouraged to continue driving with caution as they become familiar with the newly completed roadway improvements.
