The Herbert S. Ford Memorial Museum will host an Archaeology Program on Saturday, Aug. 15, offering attendees an introduction to Poverty Point and its culture.

The program will begin at 11 a.m. at the Ford Museum.

Guests are encouraged to bring any artifacts they would like identified by Poverty Point Site Manager Mark Brink and Park Ranger David Griffing, both of whom are experienced in artifact identification.

According to the museum, Griffing has written a book on regional artifact typology.

The Herbert S. Ford Memorial Museum invites the public to attend the program and learn more about Poverty Point while taking advantage of the opportunity to have artifacts identified by the guest experts.
